A Golden Day.

Yesterday we took the ferry over to the city with our friend Başak so that today I could join a photography walk. I am really intent on capturing the special atmosphere of vapur travel before we leave Heybeliada this summer so apologies for yet more pictures of kids, windows and the Marmara Sea. I have been wanting to do a photography walk with Monica Fritz for a while and it was exactly the treat I needed to shake off my post illness exhaustion (five child free hours can do miracles, especially doing something you love). It would be hard not to be refreshed by bobbing about on a little boat on the Golden Horn. I even got my picture taken by the driver of the boat, it's just unfortunate that my camera doesn't focus automatically!

You can find out about upcoming walks by e-mailing Monica at istanbulodos12[at]gmail[dot]com. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
