Plane Trees.

I am so glad about the number of plane trees in Istanbul. This species is planted in cities because it can thrive where other trees cannot. It is adaptable and tough. I love its impressionist bark, and that, on Dolmabahçe Caddesi, the avenue of planes towers high above both the Palace walls and the military compound.

Such beautiful images Julia. I love your point of view in the one with your son in tree.

  2. Looks like you have a little aspiring ballerina in that third photo from the bottom. :-)

  3. Love the images where the organic curves of the trees are juxtaposed with the lines of the architecture behind. Nice black and whites too!
In other news, when did Neve stop being a baby and start being a LITTLE GIRL? Rewind!

  4. I love photos 7 and 8! The light is just perfect in 7..mostly darkness, with little Neve shining bright. The 8th photo is so precious, and feels very delicate. Her tiny hand, the fragile flower and the other hand reaching, every so gently. I really get a lot of emotion out of this one. Well done.

  5. Julia, I love the focus on trees this week. It's fun to work with a theme, it gives you a bit of direction doesn't it?
I love that one of the tree and the door in the background. As always your photos are very moody and beautiful. x
